A glut of peas

PeasAlthough I’ve grown vegetables for many years, I’ve never really experienced the ‘glut’ problem that many gardeners complain of.  .. Well maybe we did used to have gluts of plums in the old house but I always found uses for them… jam, cakes, freezing, giving to neighbours and workmates.  This year I’m having a glut of mange tout peas.  Now that’s great.  Who would think you could have too many peas? But what to do with them all?  – pea jam?  pea cake? – hmm – pea soup, I suppose but it seems an awful waste when they’re best eaten straight off the plant.  So there’s been a lot pea salad in the last week or so.
