This is a Christmas tree for the birds. Hope you like it!
I made this earlier in the week while waiting for the assistants to help me put up the indoor tree. We found this conifer, abandoned on a cycle path near the house, while out looking for festive greenery. Presumably it’s someone’s abandoned Christmas tree from a year or two ago. I stuck it in a pot, decorated it with a home made twig star, and loaded it up with bird food and bits and pieces from the garden. The red berries are from the wild rose in the front garden.
I’m not sure if the birds will like it as they prefer to stay in the cover of the bushes and shrubs but it’s cheery to look out on, at least before it gets dark outside. One of the nice things about this time of year is that I get to spend a little more time at home in daylight, while waiting for the season to turn and the days to get longer.
