This year’s tomato crop has been rather fabulous, except that none of them realise that they are supposed to turn red:
You may spot the tiniest hint of orange on that one in the top right corner. But sadly a bit of brown on the bottom right. I had to harvest this lot today as they’ve got a bit of blight. They’ll probably ripen indoors. There are still plenty more in the garden and I’m still hoping that some will ripen out there.
Meanwhile, today saw another batch of house plants setting off on their travels:
When these orange plants, grown from seed, are an essential part of your assistant gardener’s student luggage, you feel you must have done something right. But then, given some of our past activities, I’m not surprised. Good luck for another productive year and we’ll bring mint, chutney and, hopefully, some ripe tomatoes, soon.
